Khadi speaks about our Indian Culture
by Mamta Rane on Aug 30, 2010 06:51 PM

As i read more about khadi i have started adoring the fabric. It is good to know how deep the roots of khadi are. How it has moved its positioning from political parties to the wardrobe of fashion conscious people. I would like to research more on this topic, seeking help from all khadi loving people. Please reply

To all the people who think that Gandhi and congress gave us independence, just find out how many countries got independence in the period of 1945-1949...dozens of them.... these idiots had nothing to do with our independence; the brits just could not carry on. Do you think they got scared of Gandhi's khadi and marches and ran away. Are you really that stupid??????

well...agreed that gandhi's satyagraha was not the ultimate reason we gained independence....but to all those omniscient guys who claim they are the only ones who are correct about gandhi being a villain........neither was it the rss,nor was it the so called INDIAN national army......which gave us independence.......and if it was for gandhi, that India got divided into two.....know this that without gandhi,INNDIA would have been a thousand states(i am not speaking of some princely states).......many INDIANS,in various far flung parts, would never have joined the fredom movement and wud have been with the british if not for the hugely unifying quality of gandhi.........

and cry,as you may.....nothin's gonna change that.......
an elite brahmin org(the rss of then,).....or a military group in a land of impoverished men(the INA of then)) could never ever unify hindus of all castes, ethnicities like gandhi did..........
jai hind........

You proved yourself a real fool and idiot .. u think u know a bit of history and tell them "idiots" to show your knowledge of history !!! Did u have ever a mind to apply to think that how Gandhi made an impact in all these countries , because of which Brits had to ultimately give up ? ? ? And about Khadi, it was not any means to freedom from "British Rule" , but for ECONOMIC FREEDOM , which Brits had snatched cunningly from us and imposed their own UK mill's imported fabrics in to India. Khadi was to benefit our cotton farmers and majority of low income and middle income Indian village population which consisted more than 80 % of our country population that time.

Khadi for ever

Some people say Gandhi is not relevant in new India. Whatever they say, Khadi is very much relevant to new India. When you wear khadi you are real cool whatever be the climate or mood.

Khadi

Khadi industry is spread at grassroot level in India and employs people where other sources of income are not present. It also keeps alive the handloom expertise, art and traditions. Every Indian should make it a point to buy varied khadi products of a reasonable amount every year, especially during sales around 2nd Oct, and patronise this industry. Let us also do some spending on this social cause. Let us make it a point that Khadi is not only for corrupt politicians but also good people with national spirit.
