Mam, I am Manali Dandwate from NIT-bhopal, 2010 passout. I was selected by sapient in campus interview held at my college. But due to excessive hiring, my joining( along with few more) has been postponed to jan 2011. Can I be sure that sapient willl give joining in jan 2011?

Kunal, it not true. But there are ground rules for each team. Say if the team member is late he/she will have to give fine. This fine goes to team fund and spent by the team later on. Such rules are made by the individual team to make team members more disciplined. I am an ex-sapient employee and I can proudly say I worked for Sapient. It is an wonderful organization with lots of freedom. You dont get such freedom anywhere else.

Since you are an ex-employee. I would like to ask, do they conduct any background check? I had such experience in a past Company where I had forged my CV and it wasn't knowingly but still, I resigned.. I haven't forged it here.. but still would like to know what do they check?
