I agree with the content , however author has not mentioned the importance and techniques of B&W photography . We all know that B&W photography is completely based on the subject rather than the vibrant colors , it would have been more helpful if author would have provided few tips on how to take better B&W photos .

In Black and White Photography no tips will help you.
It is up to you the photographer to create a mood and capture it.
You got to recognize subject,surroundings and lighting to get the best out of B/W photography.
B/W on digital camera is quite different form film.
film is harder since one can not see the result immediately but film captures the mood better then digital.
Unless you are in the upper crust of cameras with FX format.
DX needs to be worked on extensively afterward since the frame is much smaller then full FX.
