i agree
by Li Na on Apr 20, 2010 05:28 PM

i don't understand why one must keep studying back to back till graduation. The education system must be made flexible.
It would also help students pick better subjects which are best for them instead of going by parents opinion or popular vote.

Not education, training is needed.
by social worker on Apr 20, 2010 12:56 AM

The first training is to think big. Usually indian are scared. they just want to pass the degree and get jobs. Time has changed. right now india needs lot of visinary, entrepreneur who can start venture help others get jobs also. same in sports. atheltic ability has to be developed since childhood. food, exercise, passion to win. all this are habit and need world class training. u cant just keep dreaming and succeed.

Badminton needs a Lalit modi
by sandeep kumar on Apr 19, 2010 07:46 PM  | Hide replies

I think badminton needs someone like Lalit modi to make it more attractive to the Indian public. It seems to be run by guys who have been there for ages, and with no ideas of innovation. Modi transformed Indian cricket, gave us the entertaining IPL annow aus and england are envious of us. We are proud of our religion cricket, and now hopes he takes some time off to do something for badminton, hockey etc

Pullela Gopichand
by raman govindan on Apr 19, 2010 06:37 PM

yes. i agree with Pullela Gopichand . it will be very good if good athelete can concentrate pond develop his game, give out his best performance and later years can join a college get exposure to academic/professional knowledge and continue his career. same way central civil and engineering , Army officers , college teachers can also given leave of absence to pursue a different career of their liking.

True!

Dyan Chand is the greatest sportsman India has ever produced and the best player ever to grace Hockey.

In all sports, you see some arguments when you call some one great.

When it comes to
Football - Pele/Maradona
Cricket - Don/Gary/Sachin
Tennis - Laver/Federer
F1 - Schumi/Senna
Golf - Nicklaus/Woods
Atheltics - Owens/Lewis/Bolt
Swimming - Spitz/Phelps

When it comes to hockey, unanimous, that's Dyan Chand.
