indian cities
by Dev on Apr 19, 2010 08:16 AM

lot of towns and cities need trees and landscaping. in overseas country you can see

in almost EVERY SUBURB there is a park. and also in the suburb itself, trees are planted along ALL ROADS at regular interval!
the idea is not a big issue ,they just do it..

places having lot of rainfall like mumbai ,pune etc dont need much effort really. it is places like Delhi, Rajasthan,Chennai, Central Indian cities etc that need FOCUSED ATTENTION!It is possible to green these places.

Green Umbrella

Dr Nagesh Tekale, I had a sudden idea, felt like sharing with you. Since this Ficus & Banyan trees are large and occupy wide space, could be one reason that many people are willing to plant in their homes or in the neighbourhood, though some Indians like us consider it a holy tree and can notice performing 'puja' though the scientific reverence reason could be preservation of eco-balance. Is there a possibility of growing these trees as 'bonsai' may be many people might be willing to grow it in their homes and neighbourhood too. Request you expert suggestion and guidance too.

Indians are paying a heavy price for playing traunt with Nature.
by Rahul Singh on Apr 18, 2010 10:01 PM

In the name of deforestation so many trees are murdered. To me it is like murdering a live person. They are just forgetting that how nature is taking its revenge in terms of RISING TEMPERATURES ALL OVER THE COUNTRY. April month is like MAY where temperatures shooting as high as 45 degrees with hot winds blowing throughout the day. There is severe scarecity of water. A few fools think affoarding an A.C. will protect them from this Nature`s fury. Living in a fools paradise. We are indeed paying a heavy price in terms of global warming. Floods, Droughts, Earthquakes, Cyclones are the ways of Nature taking its sweet revenge. ITS HIGH TIME INDIANS AND THE INDIAN GOVT. LEARNS ITS LESSONS, LEST IT BECOMES TOO LATE FOR THE DESTRUCTION AND DEATH DANCE.

Keep it up, you are doing a great job

As a tree lover myself I highly appreciate the work being done by Mr. Vikram Yende and his team.

Another thing that any citizen can do is to preserve seeds after eating any particular fruit and when you go for walks you can disperse the seed in a favorable place suitable for the growth of a fruit tree

start cycling also
by pragathi on Apr 16, 2010 04:47 PM

It is the environment reason for evolution and if we change our environment now??????

Besides we all have to make india 'free from carbon dioxide'. Encouraging mass transportation instead of cars, two wheelers, usage of bicycles, solar powered pump sets etc may be some other steps to intensify.

Let us not get transformed to another species.

Nice attempt and lets start our own methods to combat global warming.
