what's so unusual about this?
by Anjali Gopalakrishnan on Apr 04, 2010 03:02 AM  | Hide replies

Tell me, what exactly is so bold and original about three "disinterested" students of advertising quitting their jobs in media and ad agencies and starting an ad agency?

it's as routine as three medicos quitting their "steady" practice and launching their own clinic.

and regarding steady income- if these ladies had to borrow 15K from their parents, i wonder how big their "steady income" was...

what you said does make a lot of sense?
you are very right. i liked the last point made by you - 'how big their steady income be if they borrowed 15K from their parents'.

Quote "They say they started with a modest investment of Rs 15,000" un quote; even the writer of this article is sceptical about their statement. All these articles on entrepreneurship I think are to encourage budding self employed people. Nevertheless, I think it helps if they at least mention annual turnover during last year; whether they have achieved break even sales etc, that will help people to get better idea; who knows banks may chose to approach them for loans?

Is my Chaiwala an entrepreneur?
by iota on Apr 03, 2010 12:53 PM  | Hide replies

He is creative. He sells Disprin Chai.
He has one employee, who serves tea.

Is he an entrepreneur?
If yes, why his story is not on rediff.
If no, why

because he is a bit too original...seriously tell me, what exactly is so bold and original about three "disinterested" students of advertising quitting their jobs in media and ad agencies and starting an ad agency?

it's as routine as three medicos quitting their "steady" practice and launching their own clinic.

your chaiwala's story would make a better reading.
