Lehman was ruined by Harvard and Stanford guys!!
by Pramit Roy on Sep 17, 2009 02:33 PM  | Hide replies

IIM guys in Lehman are non- entities working as low level analysts in obscure mediocre positions......don't get led by the hype and hoopla surrounding the IIMS, it is the big IIM bluff to con CAT aspirants.....

The big Indian middle class Wall Street dream was at best just a trickle, at worst, it is now over for good!!

As jobs in Wall street banks pick up, associate level and higher positions would go to the hundreds of unemployed guys from Stanford, Harvard, Kellogg and Wharton....jobs at analyst level would be outsourced to India and companies like Infosys BPO, JP Morgan captive BPO, Goldman captive BPO, Irevna would increasingly handle these jobs....

So, IIM grads would have only two choices left...either go for one more US MBA and work in Wall street or work in these high end captive BPOs in Hiranandani street(pun intended)..........

The days of an IIM MBA getting into a Wall Street bank are practically over for atleast 3 more years.....unless the IIMs want to stubbornly believe that they are the cream...cos seriously, in the US, whichever industry you are in, you will always be treated as an inferior second class citizen!!

besides doing these courses there is an inheretant instinct for management which is required.many times just going by book and keep on educating oneself by updating your knowledge does not help.keep in mind that after these courses u are already joining an established company.the real challengr is in the start ups where ones full skills are required to make it established.manu management students are giving up plush jobs for having their own startups which shows their inbuilt confidence and instinct in management.

Experience is better

This is the difficult situation, when one has to groom his children and discharge his other mandatory obligations , he /she persues higher studies because experiece and senority is not awarded due recognition and placement. We need to realize the fact that an IIM or that matter any Business School pass out does not have any better ability in field than the person working for years in any organization. Thus, it will be prudent and economical to train existing staff for better performance and to place at higher appointments in company . " Ashwani"

ALMOST ALL THE RICHEST COMPANIES OF THE WORLD LIKE MICROSOFT, GENERAL MOTORS, RELIANCE, BIRLA, TATAS, MODIS, INFOSYS-------- STARTED AND OWNED BY NON MBAs. THEY EMPLOY MBAs to run the. please name any 10 big companies started by MBAS LIKE MENTIONED ABOVE. YOU LOSE ENTREPRENEURSHIP TO START A NEW VENTURE. MBAs only want jobs at big salary in big companies. no more no less HA HA!
MBAs don;t start new ventures. Man start your own company and employ MBAs as naukars to run the company.
