Snapback is right , Rediff should proof read articles before publishing them. Its called phishing, not hacking. If one is not aware of basic net security procedures, then one should not use online banking.
Also, adding or removing a letter from the name does not make one a celebrity.

most people do not follow the basics of computer safety. paranoid computing is the only means by which can protect yourself.
most people commit common mistakes:
- divulge far too many details on social networks - log into email from any cyber cafe or public terminal without a second thought
these 2 are enough for anyone to "hack" into emails or get most details.
i find most people use the word "hack" into their emails - while all the "hacker" would have done is use a key logger, or probably used the password stored on that public terminal (easier than installing a keylogger). most broswers store the passwords by default... and the users dont clear the password/ username, and they cry foul, or say their mailbox was "hacked".
@ home: - use a firewall antivirus & a secure browser, avoid internet explorer if possible. - update all software frequently, including the operating system. - do not go to high risk websites - follow basic safety practices like changing password often, and not sharing too many details, or having all the eggs in one basket. use a paid service or POP your important emails on the desktop with a secure backup.
Uber Cool - Businesswoman - Credit given but really, really stupid when it comes to daily caution. C'mon if you are a regular surfer you should know better than this to fall prey to such outright hoaxes. Whilst I symphatize with this babe (never heard of her; leave aside her being a celebrity) - whoever she is - I squarely put the blame onto her for being so ignorant. There are better, easier and SAFER ways to conduct efficient business across the seas and trust me she isn't the only one doing it - She is just ignorant and unfortunately paying the price for her ignorance.

I couldn't resist to comment on this one.
I am a well known name in the mobile handset industry does not mean i am a celebrity. People loosely connected with the fashion industry do not make the populace! Please get a mind!
