A nice batsman and very bad captain

He is a nice batsman and a very bad captain. We lost the world cup ,because he was not able to handle the coach and team properly. He was a puppet in greg's hand.

You can't ignore that our team's moral was down because of the dressing room clashes. It did show the impact on the whole team's performance. He did also failed to motivate the team.

AMONG CRICKETRS DRAVID IS THE ONLY ROLE MODEL
by shobha on Sep 09, 2009 11:29 AM  | Hide replies

Other might have scored more runs may be and for many reasons or had oppurtunity to score because of placement/support etc But one thing a personality like Dravid a Clean Cricketer, Gentleman not a businessman, alwyas gives 100%, won many matches, saved many matches for the country, no nonsense, not interested in personal records, non controversial, never got into showing dissent in any matches, No histrionics. No Deepika, no controversies, no flamboyance, no black mark, motivator. He is role model and legend no one can beat from the current or past players.

Absolutely true !!! Cant agree more. One of the very few cricketers who always played keeping the spirit of the game intact. I dont think there would ever be another cricketer who would walk when batting in 90s in this first test innings.

I would say Irfan pathan is the first one who should retire...he has no stamina and is tired just after bowling 5 overs....

He is now-a-days more interested in dancing in reality shows and romancing Shilpa Shetty rather than concentrating on Cricket, Such players should be kicked out of Indian team forever and he will be kicked out like a fool :-)

correct. dravid is one player who is always concentrating on cricket. he doesn't get into controversies or arguments. neither do u see him go on the dance floor like irfan pathan, nor does he go live on tv like sachin tendulkar. he doesn't start reality shows like sourav ganguly did for knight riders. ever saw him sit out due to injury or miss out major matches or turnaments due to surgeries? dravid is elder than sachin but he is so much more fit. he can field for the entire 100 overs of an ODI or for the whole five days of a test match. sachin, if he makes a hundred, he doesn't come out to field. halfway through, he needs a runner. or he sits out due to stomach ache.

by Sachin zindabad on Sep 09, 2009 09:22 AM  | Hide replies

In order to draw matches,We should have batsman like Rahul Dravid coz We already have match winners in Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir and Viru Sehwag, So We also need such Gr8 batsman who can play out when we are trailing :-)
