Problems and solutions
by Srinivas vishnu on Sep 08, 2009 10:12 AM  | Hide replies

It is not always true that there are solutions and it is difficult finding the problems. In Science and research, there are problems from 50's which still are searching for solutions. Ofcourse, as the search goes by, the technoogy is developed and we end up with more and more of the nature of the problem revealing the solution surely but slowly. It needs patience and perseverance. There are problems still like treatment for cancer, harnessing the solar power to maximum (present efficiencies are 10-12%) to make it cheap, portable and convenient etc... And technology develops over time based on the technologies(ideas) existing at pesent. It is a dream of every scientist and entrepreneur to dream up and introduce techenology that would have been possible 50-100 years from now at the present rate of knowledge growth. But now, knowledge seems to grow in exponential fashion.

The following is true in Scinece: when you find a solution to a problem, that solution should lead you to ask more questions! That's real science!
