What Answers shall exactly convince the Interviewer ?
by raja on Nov 12, 2009 10:12 AM

I read the above article, It clearly shows that no answer is exactly convincing the interviewer, Nobody can read the mind of others.

Current Interview Statergy are worst
by Dinesh Lingam on Oct 30, 2009 03:46 PM

Hi all,

I am Oracle DBA with overall 8 yrs of experiences.
I have come across certain interviews the technical panel treat the candidates very worst. For an example in one of my interview they asked me nearly 25-30 questions and duration of the round went around 1:20 min. even i answered them but when they asked me do you have any question and i asked them
1. what project of business domain i will in?
2. May i know what sort of technologies and application and database versions and what will my team size i will put in?
Interviewer's reply was sorry we are not aware exactly of all these only my client's my be knowing?
Means is it for a new project? yes its new and a individual contributor who will in-charge of taking care all the responsibilities/activities.
I was really hot tempered and simply walked out from that place. Because in real times you must have atleast 25 yrs exp with sound knowledge on that domain. Being 8 years of years i believe any company would offer either Lead or manager role. But this interview seems to be just for namesake. I have experienced some of these sorts of interviews (both F2F and on call).

Please advice me on this how to overcome such situation or understand the interviewer is seriously looking for hiring a candidate (from job seekers point of view)

Thanks
Dinesh

There are 2 kinds of interviewers
by Suhas on Oct 23, 2009 12:32 AM  | Hide replies

There are 2 kinds of interviewers in the world - ones who are serious about taking a resource for their firm, and then the ones who are only interested in showing the interviewee that they are smart. The second kind comes up with all sorts of unusual cases and peripheral issues during the interview. If they are serious about taking in a resource, then they must look for the strength of the candidates knowledge, and his/her ability to apply that knowledge. I have seen some of my colleagues googling up the most obscure concepts to ask to candidates. And then there are the ones who present candidates with absurd and complex scenarios that would take several hours to solve. That's the equivalent of asking them to build Rome in a day. This is immature behaviour. Maybe in addition to writing tips for candidates, HR consultants should also write tips for interviewers. HR teams in companies should work with their technical panels to standardize the content of interviews.

******* HRs
by jaisekomilataisa on Oct 22, 2009 11:55 AM

They have the authority and do the autocracy. when they attempt to rape it is to make you mentally strong. when they do not answer and/or reply back they have all rights to. They are the one who use either of these saying interchangeably when they want to prove themselves right or to shut you up from talking they are 'If u cant avoid rape enjoy it'. 'if u r going to enjoy rape(not going to avoid rape) people will treat you like prostitutes'. Who do you think they are? Obviously yes - HR

HR interview
by Duryodhana on Oct 22, 2009 08:19 AM  | Hide replies

Any technical company that gives any amount of weight age for HR interview, other than treating it as a mere formality or necessary nuisance, is in a pathetic company, not really worth working for.

Mr. Bansal

See nobody in this universe is hired with perfect match. The prefect match is a mirage in which HR guys spend their life without realising the imperfections imbedded with themselves.
If the basic premises is finding fault them you give a perfect hire cases and more faults can be found in that.

Another thing is absurd JDs which are coming now a days. HR guys who are seriously lacking functional knowledge and behavioral traits are making JDs on which you can only laugh ..... some of the examples are merging Finance legal compliance (a very big indian conglomerate new entrant in PE)

This is ridiculous and a very dangerous...
