It is a misnomer that This education prepares Indians to work in India. It does not do so.May be in the past certain persons who went there on scholarships did well because we were not having proper institutions then. But this is not the case now. Government should expand higher level education and allow local development of advanced curriculam in association with the Indian Scientists abroad. I am sure India has the capacity to beat this education from US and UK and also develop Engineers and technocrates more suited to its need of development.In fact much of the development done has been done by the home grown experts- Example Ex President KALAM

Why are the british council people promoting UK education so much when they failed miserably in managing the student rush in India and Pakistan this year? they should be sending apologies by the dozen to all the applicants instaead of promoting themselves.
Since the student enrollment and Visa gone wrong this year... the number of student applying for UK for studies gone down very much this year drastically...now students are interested in applying for other European countries like Germany and Sweden.
