Models are considered by the common man as immoral women, it has not changed.
In fact, the people employing models still consider them as nothing but objects who can be marketed. (An extreme case: Anand Jon, who molested and raped scores of women). The whole industry desensitizes their minds to the immorality happening within the industry. And then slowly, they change from being passive spectators to active participants. Once that happens, even though occasionally they get flashes of self-doubt, they continue defending their jobs and careers, because they do not have a choice anymore. Which model will want to admit, at the age of 50, that all she lived for was a mirage? So she says something like "If I have a chance to live again, I won't change a single thing". And the new young models entering the industry reads those interviews, and keep entering the field, like moths flying into the flame. After 5-20 years of expolitation (physical and emotional), they continue the sordid saga.

Moral or immoral, its media which has projected these models and actresses as superhumans. There is nothing great in doing a catwalk or posing and fake answering some questions in a beauty contest. These are not real men of action. It required a far greater penace to become a sportsperson or even an accountant. So lets not rate them highly just bcos the media does it so.
The writer has written "Has your Malyali improved?" Does Rediff not know that Malyali is not the language it is Malayalam? Such a slip is not pardonable.

Why isn't it pardonable? When there are so many cultures within India such slips are inevitable. It's not such a big deal please!
