Exorbitant Fees
by deepak deshpande on Nov 26, 2009 07:21 PM  | Hide replies

It is a separate point that even the top rated schools said to be in A category have a relatively poor placement record. There is lot of exagerration and bluff about average salary obtained.Exorbitant fees charged by so called A grade B schools are not worth the returns that one gets.It is time to write to B schools that their exorbitant fees are not justified. After paying a hefty fee to a top B school in Ghaziabad , all that my friend's bright son got when he passed in 2009 was a mere rs 4 lakhs CTC annual pkg. CTC is another fraud. Carry home salary is hardly 50 to 60 % of CTC figure. My advice to parents and students is -- Do not take loan even if you get admission in so called A grade B school. With poor placement and poor salary you will not be able to repay it.
Exorbitant fees charged even by IIMs are not justified now. We must compel B schools to reduce very high fees being charged now.

Go for More content and less publicity:
There are pvt B-schools like IIPM etc who spend huge amounts in Publicity, advertisements etc but have hardly nay content...on the other hand, there are some less publicized but hugely successful Govt B-schools like NITIE-Mumbai, IRMA etc who have much better infra and faculty and even placements are far better

ya i agree with above comments. Nowadays IIMs are following path of IIPM and always trying to be in news with all "reasons". with increased fees, IIMs are not the best choice, fees has been hiked(3 lakh to 9 lakh in some IIMs in 1 yr) to just be in premium league. some IIM have the worst IT-infrastructure(in world), which goes down 12 a times in a Day and institute charge 4000/ per month for this type of infrastructure. always get the fact from close frnd of the institute..don't believe on the publish data on news article.
