D. Goel ,Pkl. afternoon 2.45pm,Tuesday,Nov. 10, 2009.
The lot of Indian Students trying to get Australian Education by spending very High Costs as compared to Indian Institutions have been receiving a very Raw -Deal at the hands of
Lumpen brats who feel threatened by these hard-working Persons in time for their own preferment for Jobs once reserved for Whites whatever their competencies or otherwise. If Australia desires equal partnership in the emerging South World it has to give up old Colonial Hang-ups of white Australia dogmatism long perpetrated by British Imperialists. One must appreciate that Global Society is in the course of getting transformed overcoming old White Racial Arrogances...Australia of tomorrow, has to live with resurgent Asians from Korea, Japan ,China and Indians and any numbers from Iran ,Indonesia and Malayasia.Australians shall miss the contemporary race for global sharing,if they do not give up their old Prejudices.

DG - Look at the India..we have not yet learned to live with anybody but ourselves. Indians are as racist as anyone else..we have castes which exist out in the open yet we pretend its all good in Shining India..we will never accept the castes system so prevalent in india. This is a typical pot calling kettle black.

It is just not caste.

As Amritya Sen said, every human being as 100 identities. We just need to pick one of them to discriminate him.

For e.g: English. In India people who can talk good English would treat an other fellow Indian like an insect, if we can't speak good English.

Person who owns a car would treat a Cyclist or other Two wheeler owners the same way.

A car owner would feel greater than his neighbour if he owns a Honda and his neighbour owns a Santro.

We just need reasons.

yes, i agree with you every body is of similar quality of that syndrome. except those who have God fearing character. those who know that every one has taken birth with equal rights on this face of earth.

one great person (SAWS) said: that no black has got superiority right over white and no white has got superiority right of black. even land is not the reason of being great or mean. it is only the piety and God fearing character which makes someone great or low...

Comparison

Till recently, I studied and worked in Melbourne, Australia.

Leaving the minor exceptions of Druggies and Drunkards with age in mid 20s, rest of them are gentle and respect every human beings including Indians.

Infact we need to consider ourselves as Racist as discrimination happens in India based on lot of other factors including Racism. In India we treat people differently by picking up any one of the factors - North Indian/South Indian/North East Indian; Literate/Illiterate; Dark/Fair complexion; Village/Urban brought up; English/Non English speakers; Hindi/Non Hindi Speakers; Hindu/Muslim; Low caste/Upper caste; Owns Car/Does not own car; Schools colleges they studied; Young/Old and the list goes on.

The attacks on Indians (actuallyPakistanis, SriLankans, Bangladeshis also do face this) is more to do with 'being at a wrong place at wrong time'. This is avoidable. Though it does not justify attacks, it is the same if not worse in India too.

I hope we all change if not done so far.
