If the AP guys do not want to be treated like the boys in the above article, they should not demand for curd-rice and sambar-rasam in every restaurant that they go in any place inthe world...Naturally , the restauranat owner may not behve properly if yu insist that you want to complete a chinese and thai meal with curd-rice...

Racial Attacks in Australia
by avinash chander on May 28, 2009 01:34 PM

Hi,

It is so unfortunate to read about the attack in melbourne which left one person battling for life and others injured.
However from my own personal experience where i was studying in melbourne, the state how you react when you encounter these people in street determines your chances of being attacked.I used to return late at night from work at Flinders street. Most often, while walking down the deserted street road, i used to see these guys all dressed in rock-style jeans and hairdo and they used to stop me for a match or a dollar for a beer. But the best way to escape is just smile and say something jokingly for eg: \"mate, i had a real bad day, so sorry mate, will spare later\" and then give a wide smile or better ask for a dime yourself..in that way you could escape from their clutches..The idea is to keep your calm and smile even if the situation looks dangerous.Be confident and never try to indimidate them. Better to act like them..dont walk like a tourist or somebody wandering in a foreign land.walk tall and they will not dare to do anything..i spent an year and i have been to places where drug related attacks were rampant..most of the guys will be in 14-21 age group..dont worry act confident..and NEVER try to stare at anyone who is doing something crazy on the road..just walk as if it is like normal..that is the only way to survive abroad..try to make friends there and adjust to their culture..most of the time when u behave like them, nobody would bother.....

dont expect much for these racial attatcks on Indians in Australia, and numerous murders of Indians working / studying in US from our poor Indian Govt., because the Govt. could't even take preventive action against MNS and RajThakrey when they attacked hundreds of north Indians in Mumbai.

Racial attacks in foreign countries
by Shyam Galgali on May 28, 2009 01:29 PM  | Hide replies

It is very unfortunate that the countries claiming to be highly developed are unable to control racial attack. Looking to the nature of these attacks one can draw an inference that the powers there remain silent spectators tosuch attacks thereby encouraging more and more attacks with emphatic claim of assisting the victims. It is high time that the international fora discusses these basic issues and assure each and every citizen/man on this earth of safety allover World then only we will have established and achieved a real 'democracy' which at present is nothing more than 'mobocracy'.
