Opinion about Ford Fiesta ??
by Dinesh Sharma on Jun 27, 2009 12:25 AM  | Hide replies

Does anyone on board have any experience with Ford Fiesta ? I want to buy a Sedan Car .. in the range of 5-7 lacs, which is economical by fuel & maintenace & better resale value.. which one is better ?? For Maruti Dezire there is long waiting period .. about 5-6 months.. Howz Ford Fiesta ? I heard it gives good mileage... about 22-24 Kmpl... but its spare part is costly & engine demands over-hauling just after 2 years...can anyone guide me in choosing a good car in my budget..

Logan. Its most efficient diesel in its class. If u can live with the looks, the space is tremendous.

Dinesh,
I am using Ford Fiesta Diesel 1.4 TDCi since 3 years 3 months. I am getting 18kmpl in city with AC and 22kmpl on highway with ac. power, driving comfort and great road grip and superb control and breaking. so it can be good chice for you Dinesh. There is one more good choce in the market now, that is fiat linea. you will probably get the basic version in 7laksh and highest at 8.35 on road. but feature rich, drive comfort, smooth and lot if space inside. gives 18-19kmpl in city. go and check the car and ask the sales person to demo you all the features it offers. i ams sure you will be impressed.

I too was dwindling in same some months back...after comprehensive research I bought Ford Ikon Diesel. Its fantastic car with mileage of 24 kmpl. Engine is same as of fiesta but price is much cheaper than that. I would say u must consider this option. All d best.

yes, now ford icon also comes with the same diesel 1.4 TDCi engine from fiesta. it is a great choice in 6 lakhs. now after using fiesta for more than 3 years, i didnt find any spare parts problem becuase still i have not faced any replacement issues. secondly i dont think spares are expensive only thing is spares are available only with the dealer or authorised service center.

Ford Fiesta diesel will give you 15kmpl, petrol about 10kmpl. The spare parts are expensive, but its an excellent low maintenance vehicle. Much smoother and easier to drive than most diesels in the market. I dont know where you heard that engine needs overhauling.

In Bombay , Mansoon showed its color today. One Milk van got overturned on Western Express Highway . Most of the roads got choked with traffic in 1st rain of the season only. Seems BMC ppl were expecting no mansoon this year , so they didnt prepared at all.. Hope we Delhites will also see prepareness of our MCD & NDMC soon...
