In order to do sex you need to have food
If you are sexually satisfied then your apetite for food will naturally increase
A good apetite will again improve sex plesure and performance in bed.
So the cycle continues...Sex and Food are coreleted to each other and cannot be opposite of each other

Do this survey at peak of economic BOOM, and you will get diametrically opposite results.

As for Indians, sexually they are a mercilessly oppressed socity. So be it Recession or Boom, they will only prefer SEX.
