Orange rose, let me remind you that indian women are equally egoistic and emotionally abusive not only to their partners but also to their children. It's not fair to make generalized statements. Besides, western societies are far more chauvinistic than our Indian society though they may have an external appearance of being cultured towards their women. Bottomline: this article is about EMO. don't bring up the issue of abuse here if you cannot appreciate it in your personal context.
