Class
by Ab J on Aug 06, 2009 04:25 AM

There is a mark of class in Calcutta. This class is called third class. Just like kroaches like warm drains, third clss people love this gutter city. The first example of class is what you get on Howrah station itself which smells like excrta. Beggars, louts and pmps roam around the area. Park Street is full of poor people living in utter poverty and filth by the roadside. The people who brag about their class should bang their heads on these ‘famous’ streets of Calcutta. This is their class- that of apathetic animals who are quite happy with this state of human existence. Another example of class is their wooden buses. Must be atleast 100 years old each. The whole city is unhygienic and dirty, this is also sign of good class, or maybe because of their own wretched class, it falls on their blind spot. Another example of class is the extreme union –industry hostility. Many people were klled on the streets in trade union wars and today it is a massively militant union city, so industries have vanished. Crime is rampant. But you don’t need to do anything about it. All you need is say- we have great culture and go to bed shgging. anyway whats the point in explaining, everyone knows about it. People who know wouldn’t go there if they can help it, people who must have to live in this hell hole singing praises about their culture to justify their miserable existence. Wake up to reality. We all know the culture part.If your truly respect for your culture make the city better

Calcutta is a rotting corpse. People there are living corpses, mingling side by side with illegal bangaldeshis. Culture and tradition can fluorish in orderliness and cleanliness, you dont find culture in a garbage dump. Other cities are not idiots. but the problem is when people themselves become passive beasts and compete with rodents in living a miserable life, no can do anything. the people who tolerate so much lawlessness and poverty are not cultured. they may have been once but not anymore.

please dont massage their egos by praising some erstwhile remnants of their past.

U belong to "gandha nali ka kieraa"_ there is no doubt. We people of Kolkata have been living years after. It is the city of perfect blend of different cultures; not only India-wise but also world-basis. Which idiot had thrashed the idiot like u I don't know. But I am sure, he must have repented for that.

Kolkata is the finest city to live in India. There is a mark of class and taste in everything Calcutta. Standard of living is highest in Kolkata. Contrary to what Ab J says, Kolkata is also one of the cleanest in India and great location as well. It is the only city that cares for every class, not just the ultra rich.

by abboral boral on Jun 27, 2009 10:23 AM  | Hide replies

on 13.6.09 ,Myself and my son went to a unique place some 210 km from Ahmedabad called Devi Mogra temple .Legends says that panvas along woth Kunti used to stay this place for 2 years and before actual temple there is another temple where Panvas took rest for a while .
Mata kunti used to workship one deity given by local tribal people some 5500 years ago and I was surprised to see the diety still exist and tribal populations from Maharastra,Madyapradesh ,Gujarat come in large no particularly on sunday .We too faced tremendous trouble to get in .Tibals offer here large no of hen, goat and farm products .

Our route was

1. By bus Ahmedabad to dediapara via Rajpipla --210 km --5 hours journey in which some 30 km magnificient ghat road journey comparable to himalayas roads

2. We stayed at Dediapara in Bharat Sevasshram Guest House .Swamiji of the Ashram has done tremendous job by giving shelter to some 70 tribal students with fooding lodging .This ashram is wonderfull place to stay .we stayed for saturday night and had very good foods supplied by the Ashram .The ashram itself a scenic beuty amidst backdrop of hills
3. Sunday morning we ventured out for 22 km ghat road journey (I have never seen such ghat roads with too much high and low roads with sharp bend .

We were there in Devi Mogra temple ,the only temple in India called Kunti Temple as well .
You must visit this place once

KOLKATA ROCKS!!

I was in Bangalore for over a year. After that experience Kolkata felt like living in a true metropolitan city. Granted the infrastructure needs to develop and improve. I like everybody absolutely hated and loathed Bangalore traffic. The main roads not to mention the arterial roads are worse than Kolkata. The cops there can't manage traffic. The state of Karnataka as a whole hasn't seen much development except for Bangalore, a city which has deteriorated over the years. Kolkata is much cleaner than Bangalore or for that matter Old Delhi, East Mumbai or Chennai. Lot more cultural activity in Kolkata than any other city. Kolkata's only drawback is the weather and the political scenario. I see people driving BMWs and Mercedes Benzs in Kolkata which is an indication they are rich businessmen. If only these folks were to take control of the infrastructure development of Kolkata. One huge project is already underway. The second metro rail project which would partially run under the Ganges while crossing over to Kolkata from Howrah on its way to Salt Lake. It would be one of its kind in India. Another metro line from the NSCB airport to center of town like Esplanade would benefit visitors. By large Kolkata has my vote in terms of the development and improvement that it has made so far. The unique thing about Kolkata is its people who are rebellious. That in itself is the key to bringing about change. The common folks are not complacent which I am an witness when I commute to work.

So you mentioned people are rebellious and this is key in bringing about change. But you forgot to mention what kind of change positive or negative.
Also in Kolkata, the problem of employment is there. Many qualified people also are without work there. Without proper works, std of people will not improve and they will remain poor only. No doubt why Kolkata is so cheap compared to other cities.
You mentioned Karnataka has seen not much development except Bangalore, can you say any developed place in WB without Kolkata? Now between Kolkata and Bangalore, Bangalore, Bangalore is more developed. Bangalore is the silicon valley of India.

It is because you never got freedom at home. Or may be u were chasing a girl there but she din't care 4 u. Being hopeless u chose Bangalore.

In bangalore you can do anything you want but Kolkata is not of that kind.

Only your kind of mentality person like Bangalore over Kolkata.

I am 100% sure I am not wrong. You may deny it but ask urself you wil get the answer.

Yes I am really hopeless. For chasing a girl also we need strength. For strength we need food. For food we need money. Had I been in Kolkata, I would have died due to starvation since most of the companies are shutting down there. There is no job opportunities. Many people like Ratan Tata are leaving this state and people like Narayana Murthy are scared to come to this state.
Yes in Bangalore we can do what we like, have so much of peace unlike Kolkata where daily there is one or the other strike going on.
Even in cricket also, people all over the world saw what happened in 1996 WC semifinal.
So can you answer now, what people in Kolkata cannot do?

I agree with ratnadeep and kolkata is a rotten place. bangalore is much much better sans traffic situation. but isnt there traffic problem in kolkata? and people in kolkata are real kupa-manduks.. they cant see a world outside kolkata.

"ALLAH MEHERBAN TO GADHA PAHELWAN". This is the reason why Delhi, Kolkata, Chennai also got good qualities. Hyderabad, Chennai have good qualities but Kolkata and Bangalore comparosin is a big joke.
Just see how many people from Bengal are coming to Bangalore and how many people from Karnataka going to Kolkata.
