Ban on wearing jeans by girls students in college campus
by Patitapabana Sahoo on Sep 29, 2009 12:04 PM

as far as an institution is concerned like school ,colleges etc, students go there to study.with this view point why don't the authority or government think of introducing dress code like paticular uniform to be wear which should be in compliance with the local culture and tradition ?.When we talk about eve teasing let the police deal with it rather then the college authority.Much more essential is there should be an awareness in the part of parents to guide their children to avoid any dangerous situation as the teenagers as not that mature to deal with these type of situation.

go after the eve teasers, not the girls

isnt this the last thing we need against the war against eve teasers ?

what exactly is wrong with jeans ? it is surely not like a mini skirt!

the eve teasers need to be exposed through careful planning. social boycott, imprisonment, etc etc. concerted effort to shame the eve teasers and punish them

Even before you create plans to imprison us we will make sure that you are treated well. And we mean very well. Beware.

todays corporate culture reflects synonymously with western corporate culture. the dress they wear gives the unique corporate identity. banning such dresses is not he solution.

Not the right solution

Banning jeans to stop eve teasing is not the right solution.

The right solution is to punish those peverts who eve tease. By banning jeans, they are just trying to show that only a girl wearing jeans is teased. If that is right then does it mean a girl in saree or salwar khameez is never eve teased????

Also on a lighter note, i guess the kanpur girls sholud protest by going to college/school/work in shorts. Remember obly jeans are banned, no one said you can't wear shorts :)
