Western world..
by johnson on Jun 22, 2009 07:18 AM  | Hide replies

It is sad to know that we are blindly following western world in everything they do. Father is father for whole life, not only on fathers day.. why not give him respect, love... every day and not just father's day?? same goes with Mothers day, Val. day and so on. Western world is too busy to spend some time with family and thats y they need dedicated days for Father, mother, Lover.. I hope we never become like them in this aspect atleast..

Father's day???
by jibak majumdar on Jun 21, 2009 11:38 PM

I don't understand the feeling can only be expressed for a day. In our days there is no father's day celebration but still after expire of my dear father I feel pround of him and whatever I have learned good thing in my life that have come from my parent(Mother Father),If children love their parent that should come from their duty towards them at all age level
Satisfy them.
My suggestion is to all children they should love their parent not only celebration day i.e father day or mother day etc but also throughout their life.
Thank you all and god blees all children who have expressed their feelings and love. From A father of a daughter.

Father's day is a Hallmark Holiday
by wizardo id on Jun 21, 2009 01:06 PM

somewhere dwn the line, greeting card manufacturers gained enough importance that they started the "special" days to boost their card sales. they'd make ads to say that you are an idiot if you have not greeted that special person with a card/ bouquet/ gifts etc!

father's day
mother's day
valentine's day
friendship day
..so on and so forth!

maybe in india we can label it as archie's holidays!

father's day??
by krishna tripathi on Jun 20, 2009 01:29 PM

is it the father's day we r talking of or children's day? most of the ppl are with their kids!!
jokes apart, fathers have always been sidelined. worse, they have been condemned by the feminists. all think that men are bad by default. but all praise their fathers!! strange!! if men are bad, howcome fathers are good? or there is something fundamentally wrong with the society???
