Importance of nap
by Ravindra Rao on Jun 18, 2009 11:07 AM

Ayurveda always reccommended sleep as the best remedy in addition to medicines when sick. Labourers always take a 15 minute catnap after lunch. Winston Churchill the PM of UK at WW2 slept an hour after lunch. People made fun of him "War is on & our PM sleeps" to which Churchill replied that with one hours sleep he could do 2 days work in one day because he could work till 12midnight when others got tired at 8pm. Churchill spent 2 years in India, Bangalore where he picked up the habit of afternoon siesta which he carried on all through his life and was the secret of his long life. The British are rediscovering what India already knew. In the 1st standard in some schools there used to be a sleeep period. It made a great difference to the students well being.

Dont try this
by rajiv mehta on Jun 09, 2009 09:23 PM  | Hide replies

Remember we are into recession companies are trying to find excuse to layoff employees. If your manager catches you while taking you a nap he might report to HR that you are lazy and you can be laid off

that's right, employees taking a nap in the office premises helps the company's problem solving skills, in that now they dont need a better excuse to send the employee home for a longer nap.

All manager are idiot
by Python on Jun 09, 2009 09:10 PM  | Hide replies

I knew this long back when it was published in BBC. Taking a Nap helps increase productivity. It refreshes the mind... But Managers never understand this ..

They works like donkeys to get more production .. but never use their brain to work smartly like Bees..

Anyway there is not much use explaining this ..because most of the idiots won't ever expect this and all of the idiots are in Managerial position or become idiots after becoming a manger...

But I will anyway take a nap ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

You will also become manager some day and that would be time when you realize the pressure from client. Be aware your manager's stress level is always higher than yours.
