Filing ITR online is a breeze

E-filing ITR is very simple. It is a breeze. If you have your company provided Form-16, entering the data into the Excel sheet is so easy. After every page you can verify it with the inbuilt verifier. Finally you generate XML, log into the IT site, log into your account using your pan number and upload it. It shouldn't take one more than an hour for doing that.

The following is the link to the relevant ITR site which is self-explanatory. I mean everything that you require is there right before your eyes.

I mean, it shouldn't take more than half-an-hour (including the time reqjuired for generating the xml file) for the whole exercise. Once you get your ITR-V take its print-out, sign it at the column provided and post it by ordinary post affixing a Rs.5/- postal stamp to the envelope carrying it, and lo and behold, you are done with it. It gives you a great deal of satisfaction doing that, and also helps yourself as to how indispensable you are when you help out other no-so-intelligent-nogooders in filing their Return.

The address to which it needs to be posted (it is located at Bangalore) is printed on the ITR-V itself at the bottom.

Yeah. I forgot one more thing. You should post your ITR-V by ordinary post to the given address at Bangalore WITHIN ONE MONTH from the date of filing your Return. They will in turn have it stamped, signed, scanned and e-mailed to you to your e-mail address. You can take its printout and have it in your records. It is a lot more simpler, you don't have to muscle your way to the counter, you can do the entire exercise from the comfort of your desktop. Oh dear PC (PChidambaram) thanks very much da.

ITR-V should be sent via general post to IT office in Bangalore
by PP Sahoo on Jul 30, 2009 03:55 PM

Rediff, please put correct procedure in your site. Last year we had to submit a copy of the ITR-V to the nearest IT office. But this time it has to sent by ordinary post to the IT office at bangalore which should reach there with in amonth of return filling. Please make the required correction.
