Australia has a combination of open book and closed book exams for their students. Also they believe in a lot of self-study and self-assignments of the subject matter during their school and college year for which credit is given for the final result. There's no pressure on the students by saying this answer is right and that is wrong. They mainly wish to see how much the student knows and not what he/she doesn't know unlike in India. Finally if a student fails in a subject, a re-exam is there only for that subject which they call "re-sits" and it's held in just a short time after the failed exam. So once again this takes off a lot of pressure from the student by not losing a year! In short, learning is a joyful experience in Australia and not a fear/pain/misery as seen mostly in India. We do need to follow their system and adapt it accordingly or slightly to suit our Indian conditions. Mr.Kapil Sibal, are you listening?

Why do u think Indians are more INTELLIGENT. I know there is less pressure in Aus style of learning but Indians are more SMARTER.

We always live in that false notion that Indian students are smarter. Actually, from my experience in biotech industry, 90% of the Indians are unemployable!! They might know the bookish jargons but almost all lack what we call common sense - cannot connect their book knowledge to the bench!! sorry folks Israelis and western Europeans are the smartest!!
or world-class education, whatever you call it....the package also includes world-class beating and bashing up by Oz thugs...and this comes for 'free'...and is a special privelege given only to INDIANS and not to other countries' people who go to Oz
Still now the Indian students are not feeling safe in Oz, not to talk about asking them to provide quality education there. How long Oz govt. will bluff without carbing the menace of anti socials, racists activities in their own country. Indians should boycot the Oz Universities/ Institutions for higher education.
