A lot of luck involved
by Kachbo Games on Jul 21, 2009 09:10 PM  | Hide replies

Successful people have needed a lot of luck in their entire lifetime apart from the talent they possess in order to succeed.
Consider this, you have worked really hard and got into the great engineering college and when you are about to graduate, there is a recession and all jobs are dry. You pick whatever you can.
Alternatively, some people join the course just when the times are bad. Many people are reconsidering investments (these days the fees are so high) in such courses. Banks may not be very keen in giving loans either. Those who join have had it relatively easy because of little competition. When they graduate, everythings fine, they get a great job.
Thats success!

These are wrong perceptions. Recessiona and boom are created due to certain situation. It is not going to be life long. Before 9/11, BE computers Sc seats had heavy demand. Suddenly it stoppd. Again picked up when s/w boom started. Now gone down due to recession. Currently Mech seats are of high demand - thinking nano is the future. Dont jump into any of this public perceptions and word of mouth. You will have a bright future if you are 1. Hard working 2. Good common sense 3. Sincere 4. Do not show off and Do not believe in mere luck.... Best wishes

Kachbo....

I respect your thought !!! But let me tell you one thing. A successsful people would never let their career depnd on luck. They would strive always for the better and would land at right place thy deserve, irrespective of good or bad times. Luck is nothing but an EXCUSE.

Vineet,

Thanks for words. If you feel what Kachbo's words realistic - its your thought. But her words sounds like a looser's words, which is never a sign of successful people. World is too cruel, if you become weak, you are gone.

From theoritical perspective Piyush is right. But from practical perspective Kachbo is right. There is one more thing which successful people know how to play well and that is office politics. One more evil way which does happen quite frequently is that successful person ensures that others fail so that he can continue to enjoy success.
