I'am sure Manish Jha sees it differently cos he admits that VA was his weak section...
I feel that if you are resonably well read and well prepared, you should always take VA first and then reading comprehension....cos it is possible to make some quick gains in these sections..... If you take problem solving first and then get stuck in some difficult quewstion, you can lose momentum and then lose track completely..
Also make sure that you don't take more than 5 minutes per alloted time for each section.....for Eg. if VA has 30 minutes, make sure that you never exceed 35 minutes......as soon as 35 minutes are over, move onto another section...that ensures that all sections get reasonable time and you are in a position to cross the minimum cutoffs in each section.....
Clearing mimnimum cutoffs is very important....also percentiles in cat don't have any relation to actual CAT performance....they only give an indication of your relative standing among All India takers...
For eg. 99.88% in CAT means that only 0.12% scored more than you in CAT...... So if 2 lakh aspirants have taken CAT, only 240 people are above you in the written exam...so, you will get a sureshot call from all IIMS...... All the Best~
Honest and hardworking guy....atleast hgas the moral courage to admit that he took CAT thrice, unlike many cowards who fake in interviews that they chose to work for 3 or 4 years......instead of admitting that they required multiple CAT attempts...
As i see it, Jha has been unlucky in CAT 2005 and 2006, inspite of scoring impressively, he has not been able to crack the top 4 IIMS...i'am sure with his percentiles, he would easily have got into IIM K or IIM I but i guess he wanted one of the top 4 IIMS...
And he aced it in 2007 CAT......WQell done Manish Jha!! I like fighters who have honesty and integrity!!
