Regarding Educational Loan (interest subsidy) will only for downtroden people i.e., economically backward class only.


Is it so ??????

abe even if you pay interest on educational loan, you can claim the full amount as tax deduction

No, Till something is added to your income, it cannot be taxed.
Moreover FBT is paid by company, not individual.

Yes. Most likely reimbursements like petrol exps and telephone expenses may be taxable in the hands of the employees.

Until minister put the budget on the table Rediff gave all of us expectations. But eventually the budget turned as useless to the common man and salaried people. Now Rediff is trying to justify the budget. Say how many salaried people in percentage enjoying the ESOP?

This is really an anti-salaried people budget. It looks like giving salaried people something with one hand while taking a larger share with the other. It actually takes more than it gives. The taxpayer doesn't really enjoy the public amenities that s/he pays for.
