Very vivid and subtle language

The pics and write-up really take you there. Very well knit and sequenced with the concluding para taking one back to the woman walking up hill with the prayer wheel. I am yearning to access 'Departures' where Sophy would have penned more such wonderful travelogues. Is it possible to save this one as I would like to go through it over and over again.

How to protect heritage and make it profitable?
by Lisa Sinha on Jul 08, 2009 05:50 PM  | Hide replies

One would want a beautiful place to be visited by tourists providing a source of income to the region. Then when tourists come in droves one is worried about conserving the beauty. See Darjeeling, garbage and hotels everywhere. It was once one of the beautiful places in the world.

I completely agree with you Lisa. But as we know, even if we raise this issue up, there's no one who cares about the beautiful nature. I dont understand how can people IGNORE NATURE??

I fully sgree but this can be prevented by goverment and public intervention , as by banning plastic bags and proper traffic managment checing vehicles for pollution standards and educating loacalites about enviornment conservation.
