Restraint

Pursuit of running with hare and hunting with hound does have recoiling effect. The more we fall victim to high jinks, the more we are sure to embrace ructions. We need to inculcate pacifisism, containment and self-restraint. We should strive at developing irenical mien and start counting our blessings. The fons et origo behind all our tribulations are our mntality to chase rainbow. No matter how many times we levee for religious speeches, at the end of the day, self-realization that nothing is sempiternal can usher much coveted satori in our lives.

The Western Culture diverts us from life's problems into temporary reliefs, like pain killers, sleeping pills, drinking, drugs, sex etc. But, when continued in the long run, they not only drain us of our remaining wealth, it also destroys our health. Any personal problem should be faced and one should not do anything to aggravate the problem by doing negative things.

Sri Ram sena is a sena of Vanars (Sri Ram Sena Activists) led by their Chief Vanar (Mr. Muthalik) trying to protects Sitas (Indian Girls who have lost their composure in the Land of the Sita) from the land of demons, The Lanka (pubs/bars). They ain't doing anything wrong.. While Sri Ram also gave lots of advice to the Ravans but ultimately had to attack as the Ravans of Lanka did not bend.. So stop arguing abt the miniscale violence and start rectifying our culture in actionable terms.. Keep educating the youth the pubs not to cross extensive boundaries.. Well if they don't listen hand over them to law, and if the law of the land dosen't take action or sides with the so called pub activities then its time for moral police to come in whack one or two.

What are we talking about western culture and which is new to us. Today, girls and guys are wearing sexy clothes, disturbing public. So are we going to back to wear the old lungis and dhoties???

Shri Ram sene, should not restric women to have a drink or a pub culture which they are talking about. I am sure after every incident with ram sene activists, they will go to a bar and cherish themselves with a drink.

Women and men dont create biasness....

These days we have lots of morchas, campaigns, sloganeering, trading of charges and counter-charges, sensationalim in the name of investigative journalism, divisive politics in the name of secularism, deification of mediocrity, being glued to soap operas and mega serials in TVs, "exclusive interviews" or "breaking news stories" simultaneously in all channels etc.

Do you know why?

The human mind is empty and hence needs to fill itself with all these garbage and temporarily feels quenched / satiated.

Very soon the empty mind gets thirsty, hungry again for more and the cycle continues viciously.

Tame your mind, tame the world!

Want peace?

Accept people with whom you have to live, with all their plus and minus. Do not keep thinking that if this was better, I would be better, if this was done, I would be happy, if that was changed, then I can progress.

Change and mould yourself to the situtions. When there are storms, big trees are uprooted, because they do not bend, while small plants can survive. Get rid of rigidity, ego. Be happy.

Buddha was walking along a forest along with some of his disciples.

A rough looking man who came in the opposite direction saw Buddha and started abusing Buddha with the choicest (should we say filthiest) of epithets. This went on for quite some time but Buddha never stopped smiling. Once the man became tired and stopped scolding, Buddha started his stroll again.

One disciple asked Buddha how he could be equanimous in the face of such vituperative tirade by the stranger. Buddha said that the abuse was the stranger's gift to Buddha but Buddha didn't accept it, so it remained with the stranger!

Happiness is not in your money, bungalow, car, pet, children, dress, your accomplishments or achievements of your near and dear. It is a state of your mind. Learn to understand and nurture your mind and be happy.

Remember a story? A king with all his kingdom, huge treasury, dozens of queens, hundreds of servants, endless varieties of food, dress and other comforts was not happy. He discussed with many scholars but couldn't find the reason. Atlast one sage suggested that if he wears the shirt of the happiest person in his kingdom he will also be happy.

The king told his soldiers to fan out to the length and breadth of his kingdom and fetch the happiest person they found. Eventually they brought a person looking like a beggar to the king and said that he was the happiest person in the whole kingdom.

The king asked this man to give him his shirt, to which the happy man said that he hadn't seen, forget about ever wearing, a shirt in his whole life!
