I had what you would call an above average profile, and an admit from University of Texas Arlington. I thought the VISA, was just a fommailty, but fate had other plans! My VISA was rejected not once, but twice. The reason, given by the VISA officer was "I feel that you would not be able to complete the course in 28 months". Considering my GPA in UG was 7.5/10 and the had completed 40 odd subjects in fours of engineering, I really could not understand, how the visa officer came to that conclusion! So i fell it depends a lot on your luck and what the VISA officer had for breakfast!!

are you joking?7.5 out of 10 ni not bad at all..............many stoopids are getting visa isn't it?why not you? have some political approach
95% of the 'students' do not return to India. This is despite the 'check' while issuing the Student Visa. And US laws say that the 'student' can change his visa status once in the US and so what do the 'officers' really check when they say that 'they want to make sure that the person would return to India.
(Immigration and Naturalisation Service) keeps parroting about the need for a student visa applicant to 'prove' his intent to return to India after the course. They have been insisting so for decades now and handing out visas in tens of thousands every year to Indians. And, true to form, more than 99 percent of these Indian students never ever return. Yet the INS keeps on labouring to convince itself that every new applicant to whom they issue a visa has satisfactorily 'proved' that he/she will return !!!
