NGOs.. is good but...
by Jas on Dec 24, 2009 10:16 AM  | Hide replies

Effort is appreciated.

BUT, if we want to transform India, we need ACTION at the TOP LEVEL. At the govt. level, where billions of rupees are collected as taxes and 'wasted', and millions of govt. servants think harassing the common man as their job-description.

Teach the needy Fishing, and not just fish.

Unlimited number of relatives can fly with MPs for free wherever they want to go in India, is this not an action at "top level"?.

how? which protests from past have worked.

Mamta Banerjee is creating more chaos by introducing Yuva Trains, where 25 years old have to prove they are UNEMPLOYED and they get to ride in discount.

Are we promoting Unemployment?

the problem with us young india is we want to take the easy ngo route to help others(that we want to do ,no doubts) . but that is not how real change comes ,it is through bold political participation ,willingness to die for causes with family and friends and unwavering integrity that youth can reform india. how long are we going to be kurta clad geeks in press and ngos who get scared shitless with a single threat from goons .

We should fight the govt for lack of accountability/transparency on their part. India has lot of money, which is lost in corruption and stealing by the Govt. employees. If the govt. can account for every rupee that it receives, then this kind of charity won't be needed.

This effort has to continues till the govt. puts in place policies which ensure transparency and citizens have to support the govt. in this endeavour. Otherwise, we'll keep doing this kind of nobel work to feel good and the govt. will keep shirking it's responsibilities.

Ramdas,
It can be done if we stop Telengana, MNS type of politics and agitate for governance. This issue will automatically take care of all other issues....
