by looking into the songs composed by this couple, one thing can be easily guessed for sure that you cant make your composition beautiful and meaningful without using urdu words, the impact and influence made by urdu words are missing in any language. alas some nuthead people not only associated urdu with muzlims and izlam rather hate to make it extinct...
NO POETRY CAN BE COMPLETE WITHOUT USING URDU WORDS IF YOU WANT INFLUENCE AND IMPACT.

wrong analysis...Urdu itself is a very new language that has been formed using elements of west asian and indian language...it has beautiful words & phrases...but so does other languages...try the lyrics of the film Navrang (1959)...u'll realize what I mean...

this is just pure ignorance...most lyricists in Bollywood were urdu poets...thts why they gained prominence..
I have heared her singing........ She is not that great....... there is no deepness in her voice as a sufi singer should have....... She is more of a pop singer singing sufi songs....... even her vocal cords are not upto the mark....... Rediff, on top of that, is marketing her........ This is the third time that rediff have written about her on the homepage...... and there is no significant article about her on other sites.......

I agree. After reading this article I checked out some of her videos in youtube..She is pretty average singer. She needs lot of practice to be called a soul or sufi or whatever singer.I think they are more intersted in making money than learning music.
