AN APPEAL
by buzzer on Dec 17, 2009 11:36 AM  | Hide replies

This is an appeal to the people of India to fight injustice and corruption.
Everybody knows that there is Govt departments. The department of legal metrology that implements Weights And Measurement Act is the top. The inspectors earn HUGE AMOUNTS by way of extortion. The Weights and Measurement Act was brought in by Govt to protect common man from getting cheated in shops when purchasing commodities, rice wheat, vegetables, etc. But the Act is hardly enforced at the mandis. Moreover the Act covers all commodities so the Weights Measurement Inspector goes to all the shops and malls and seizes electronics goods, articles under the pretext that the MRP sticker does not give full information. Then they force the company to give out bulk amount at least Rs. 50000 to close the case.
An Inspector in this department earns at least Rs. 1 crore per month. I know of an inspector who works in this department. He lives in Pune and comes by train everday. He has purchased property in Pune for Rs. 5 crore and now jointly owns a shop at Nariman Point. It is rumoured he controls other inspectors for organising raids from his Vidya Vihar office and negotiates the extortion amounts. He sends a part of it to the higher ups sitting in Barracks office - some money goes to politicians so complaint will be of effect if you go to Mantralay.
People please vote - DO WE WANT THE WIEGHTS AND MEASUREMENT ACT?

I fully agree with you & you have rightly mentioned about mis use of weights & measures act for illigally syphoning money by inspectors & higerups.Their revenue is much higher then RTO inspector as equipements (weighing scales & weighbridges) being used by the people has to be verified by W&M inspector every year & one has to approch inspector every year. He has to verify petrol pumps also which is another source of revenue. While entering their offices there is a displayed name & position of the person whom has to be contacted in case of any fevour being asked in the office, pity is , same person is asking for fevour.

If you have so much details about this inspector who is corrupt from Head to Toe then you please contact the anti corruption bureau. I am sure they will take strict action against this officer. No individual is powerful enough to continue with his illegal activities for long.

Recession or not ....
by Almighty on Dec 16, 2009 01:06 PM  | Hide replies

.....only 3 things matter.

1) How to make money( job or business.)
2) Keep your expenses down to minimum
3) Save and invest consistently

I recently found A little known way to save a small fortune by stop paying high
interest rates to banks on home loans etc.
The best way to get out and stay out of high interest rates of
banks is by using some of the little known NBFC and private
institutions which have access to low cost funds and can offer
lower rates of 7.5-8%% fixed for entire tenure of the loan !
