Cancel the exam. Redo the CAT in the paper and pencil format for this year. Only then IIMs can restore confidence that they have lost. It also will give much needed credibility to the CAT 2009.
With reports of lesser registration this year, repeated/leaked question from question banks, lack of good test conditions, system failures the current CAT has become a joke and lost credibility which is vital.
So, do a paper and pencil format for CAT 2009 and think about online CAT the next year. Hope IIMs will be able to conduct the online CAT successfully next year. After all they are good at Case Analysis. They have made a good case study of themselves. Study it. Learn from it. And then conduct a professional online CAT in 2010.

I think the time for a re-test has gone by. IIMs are now interested only wriggling out of the mess they themselves created, unmindful of loss of credibility or lack of fairness
