Being Polite
by Gaurav GUPTA on Dec 15, 2009 12:00 PM  | Hide replies

Maybe if we made our requests with a polite "please" and accept things with a soft smile and a "Thank You" i m sure we will be treated nicely. You will b amzed at the very fact that we Indians never use propper greetings like a good morning or Good Afternoon or even smile at others. One small step will help us a long way in being treated fairly and please stop that horrible "i have paid for it" attitude.

Agree with you. But, it is not the air hostess's business to lecture the passenger on India's poverty. There is poverty even in developed countries

Before going to racism and other such excuse where "Indians are treated differently"- while traveling international are not we Indians (not all of us,but majority) behaves like an Indain@home without caring and respecting about fellow passengers/people/culture ?I don't mind having an thempla from my fellow passenger - I will be happy for it, but you can't expect the same kind of thought from a French or Chinese or Australian -who may be a fellow passenger, pilot, air hostess.Until and unless we don't understand and respect others/neighbors/accompanied don't expect the same from others too

yes my friend, you always see racism when you travel abroad, but we are largely responsible for it.How come the same Indians on an outbound journey will not so much as shift in their seat till the aircraft doors are open, but start jumping about before it leaves even the active runway on an inbound flight to India?

I think only Indians are treated bad because of the color and some bad experiences left by some Indians very long time ago. During my previous experience ,I saw some Chinese guys putting the food into their hand bags and asking the air hostess for more food.Similarly when I asked for a blanket I never got one till the end of the journey.(coz I think the air hostesses thought I would make a getaway with their filthy Blanket)..But who cares as we have paid money for travelling we can demand things but not to the extent of asking everyting...
