tamasha in air

We pay to fly and need reasonable attention and clarity in dealing as such malls have sticker on food items than why on first ticket issued carry in HINDI/OR REGIONAL LANGAUGE water and meal costs pay for it..............

There nothing wrong asking free meal on no frill airlines . They are charging very heavy on almost all tickets baring few early booking tickets and earning too on re-schedule dates fare. It is shame on the part of NO FRILL Airlines to charge water and ask money for food in the MID-Air.

Similar , MULTIPLEX do charge exhorbitantly for food /beverages items. Why not to wake up to the need of CUSTOMER ,Who is incidently called by Mahatma Gandhi " Most preferred person ". Shame to new rising Indian mentality where people wish to laugh on their own bankrupt mentality.......shame shame......

Its a capitalist world. Get real. If food costs on a flight (which never takes more than 3.5 hours from anywhere to inside India) what is your compulsion to eat exactly in those few hours? Get something to eat before or after or buy it. Airlines are going bankrupt. They are not a charitable organization and care a rats ass about anyones gandhian mind.

I really do not know what was the fun that made Harsh laugh continuously for 20 minutes. Let his parents travel and behave like this, and every one else in the aircraft will laugh at them. Moreover you have to pay as and when you buy the stuff and not after gobbling up and our friend has made out a lie. Harsh, do not imagine things and try to make fun. Behave like a responsible citize.

Complying with Jeevan Shetty.
by Nivaas Niyogi on Dec 04, 2009 09:51 PM

i completely agree with Jeevan Shetty here. For that matter rediff could've gone on this episode word-by-word resulting to discarding it rather than posting such an unworthy news. am running short of glossary to write on these writers. oh GOD! equip them with better thinking.

hi harsh
by Kartikey Soni on Dec 04, 2009 09:44 PM  | Hide replies

Hi harsh,
I am sorry to say this but your story is kind of mockery to the people who have not been able to get the joy of flying in life, I have no shame to accept that I was very nervous to board my first flight in life (though thankfully I managed to do it without being looking like fool), forget about that I was nervous when I first boarded in AC class in train and everyone is if you have not been able to fly since kinder garden, yeah we have a notion of airlines which include certain features not available in no frill airlines but don’t you think that you should be more considerate and helpful to such peoples? Being nervous for the first time is no strange thing for humans and having expectation is not bad either, at least they were not flying on companies account and its worth to fight for your every hard earned penny, I don’t know if that’s a case with you.
Next time you fly remember that if someone takes you on a charter flight in a corporate jet you will probably be butt of jokes for them by your actions.

The whole problem can be solved if....
by Globalcrusador on Dec 04, 2009 09:36 PM

the budget airlines were to announce on their tickets, it is okay to bring your own food and water. There would no problem of cleaning up as they will put the empty plastic containers back in their brief cases or handbags & bid goodbye while deplaning !!

I FEEL SORRY FOR THE WRITER, NOT THE PEOPLE IN THIS CASE!!!
by jeevan shetty on Dec 04, 2009 09:26 PM  | Hide replies

i do travel by air regularely though u cant call me frequent flier. i see people behave differently and act as if they have just landed from some europian country where to open your mouth is a crime. if somebody with a family enjoy their ride on air, whats a crime in that. its not compulsory that u hve to use english when u r on air. and if u discuss about the food and billing with the airhost/hostess whats wrong with that? u behave wildly when u r in train. and again, these no frills airlines also rob the passengers if you book tickets at last moment. so thers nothing wrong if u expect a free meal.and Mr.Harsh Vaishnav, you seem to be from the background where you hardly get to meet or live in high standrads. dont fake yourself, live life as what you are , dont try to show the world that you are sophisticated.take care.

I agree with you Jeevan and more than that story of Uttam seems to be a imagination of his own and not a real incident bcoz Jeevan you also know every airlines ( budget ) announce that some foods is for sale with price and if suppose they didn't heard that air hotess who server before handing over to them mostly tell people and ask for money immediately , so UTTAM ...

CHINDI-CHOR..indi-GO
by NK SHAIKH on Dec 04, 2009 09:05 PM  | Hide replies

I got better story to share..and came to me as a blow, iam a frequent flyer to various domestic cities across INDIA..and most of the i prefer KINGFISHER or JET but unfortunately last week i had to be content with INDI-GO airline [mumbai-lucknow]right from the time i hit the counter for my baggage screening to get my boarding pass..everything seems v.laidback with the ground staff of indigo.i was shocked to see my baggage was not screened at the airport i was shocked all this happening on the eve of 26/11 where entire world knows due to lack of proper security arrangements on coastal line terrorists breached into our territory..a lady on ground simply asked me if iam carrying any sharp object or liquids along? i said NO she didn't bother to cross check with my articles and straight away put the security tag and passed on to next passenger..well that was just the begening of all the shocks i suffered 1 after the other..our flight was to take off at sharp 14:00 hrs but inspite of 100% occupancy aircraft refused to take off for 50 min, later it was reasoned indigo was not getting signal from ATC, ones it took off thankfully safely, there was nobody to attend passengers all airhostesses were so exhausted they refused to leave their cabins for 30 long mins, my fellow passenger was disgruntled and constantly tried to get in touch with airhostesses..after much tamasha 1 preety lady barg off her cabin and politely asked sir how do i help U? he said iam begging for water to you....

How much does a meal cost? Rs 100, 200 or max 300? Then why don't these guys include it in the fare itself. An BOM-DEL Indigo flight costs around INR 5000. Can't they charge INR 5200 instead and give meals to all passengers and avoid the inconvenience to them?

In my whole life I have traveled by a No frill airline only once (DEL-BLR Air Deccan in 2005) and then I vowed that I would never travel by a No-Frill Airline.

he said iam begging for water to you since longtime and yet u r asking me..she bluntly answered if you want water its 60/- for 500 ml, i was shocked and decided if i want to avoid getting humiliated i should not ask but simply buy what ever i want to have...i politely ordered for 1 sandwich/1 mix fruit juice and 1 bottle of water..but next to me was a muslim priest travelling all the way from ZAMBIA on board for more thn 20 hours took a connecting flight to lucknow..he was hungry and v.thirsty but had no money left with him as he was sponsored to tour by his organisation i was feeling v.sad for him i got 1 juice for him as well..the question is not about money, i always had a v.different sketch of hospitality industry,1st time i saw insensitive people who kick ass with utter most sheen and politeness..its an absolute PAIN to travel with indigo..
