i hope the entire onlyn thingy should be cancelled and a plain and simple pencil-paper CAt shud b followed tis yr... and let the entire country sit at one tym and give the paper together .... itz more fair and i believe tis is the right thing to do.. wat do others feel abt tis?
I think the govt is being too lenient 7 taking no responsibility here. I think the committe that decided on using Prometric & NIIT should be sacked. The exam should be annulled & new exams should be conducted, maybe in Feb at no extra cost to those who had already applied.What is the validity of an exam where students have not been able to think freely & were constantly in fear of their test crashing. The entire test is now of no value whatsoever. The old vendors should be fined heavily & probably banned from conducting any more online exams in the country.
What would have happened if an indian vendor did this in the US?
I think it is time for the govt. to walk the talk & exhibit intent on the ground rather than make airy fairy remarks.
Select a new vendor for the process- one who has prior experience in online exams, tie them to strong SLAs & make payments only if the exams are conducted smoothly.

i wud second u in this regard sir. a re consideration for candidates who'v appeard in an undyin pressure is nothing but fair on everyone's part

FYI Prometric has a vast experiance in conducting online exams.
There are numerous cretification exams running at the Prometric centers.
The real problem is with the hardware and network setup of the colleges and the co-ordination between the colleges and the prometric centers.
I think the government should keep a strict vigil on the entire process.
The other option would be that we could not have outsorced it to prometric but have trust on our own companies(We have many examples like CRIS or the company which provides the Election Commision services)
This was really a MIS(S)-MANAGMENT shown from the authorities.
Working people really plan the tests admist their busy schedules, and I know how hard it is to reschedule the exam and manage all those things like in applying for a leave again after a long leave.
The goverment officials should have a strict vigil on the work done by the Prometrics and the college authorities and thou should not run from pillar to post to get information about your exam status.
I hope the authorities take some good lessons from this fiasco and really MANAGE the exams well.
oh siddharth! ask for the to fro expenses for appearing 2nd time as it wasnt your fault.or ask for test center at pune, but the big que is trauma!consult an advocate and file a suit agst iim prometric...be a hero..be a leader.. be a torch bearer..mba is all abt leadereship...al the best! kahyap career consultant

hey Sid...m agree wid Mr. Dholakia. It's time to show some heroics and let them (IIM-Prometric) realise the real test of trauma. Go! go ahead and file a suit for compensation in a court. Hey guys this advice is not only limited to this SID only. Wake up gen-next! (whoever suffered mental agony while appearing for CAT)it's time to act in a smarter way. All the best.
