Goals/Objectives
by Atul Neogi on Aug 30, 2009 08:58 PM

Should follow the simple rule SMART - Objectives should be "Specific", "Measurable", "Actionable", "Result Oriented" and "Timebound".

Common sense will tell you the relevance of the above statement.

to achieve wht u want requires 3 things knowledge, skill and attitude. so most of us like a job and have ve attitude but we lack knowledge & proper skill required to properly executed the job. there is fine line between keeping ve attitude and accepting reality.

Article has MIRRORED the Reality
by Deepman on Aug 29, 2009 01:43 AM

Article is absolutely not misleading. Those enraged at it ..May be because they tuk it personally..It is awakening for those who are humble enouh to introspect their goals.Article only says that goals shud not b set blindly..Factors like ur strengths, aptitude, inherent skills, learnability, Family support, finance should be identified/analysed within and around us before hitting any unclear target.

SHAME on rediff to put such an article !

No goal is non achievable ! I repeat everything is achievable !

I have an example of my friend's brother !

He got 48% in B.Com,and 54% in 12th std. Then he got a small time time job in a pvt. company in administration . But he soon realized that unless one has a professional degree ,he will not make up in life.He left the job for doing coaching in company secretary course. He took his time ,ie. 6-7 years to complete the course, taking tuitions in between, failing in attempts etc. but he was not discouraged or had mood off in between ! Now he is in the higher hierarchy in a good limited company.

Point to be noted is ,had he been counseled by people that have conducted above study,he woulD have been nowhere today !

EVERY GOAL IS ACHIEVABLE PROVIDED-

1. You have a fire in the belly to achieve it.

2. You are persistant to achieve it.

3. Lots of patience.

4. Support of family .

World's most famous speech consisted of few words-

NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER GIVE UP.
by Winston Churchill when he won the war against Germans amid certain defeat.

REQUEST TO REDIFF: PLEASE DO NOT PUBLISH SUCH ARTICLES.
