HP laptops sucks big time. I am using HP DV 6767 Thrive Special edition brought for 56K 1 year back. I could use my laptop as omlet maker or egg heater and even dry my hair.. It is getting hot even after a 30 mins of work. Now i dream of playing games in HP while it is winter in bangalore.. I could use that as room heater. The laptop is showing better performance other than heat related issues.. But if you are unable to touch the keypad ,,then how will you use it, I wish..next time i should make a good choice..

Yeah, Toshiba, Sony Vaio, Dell are good. HP suck. I have dv6000 HP Pavillion

my HP laptop also went dead after 1.5 years..doesnt switch on at all now going to buy a dell..

Hp just likes to dump the system on you after taking your money and doesnt give a damn after that. It takes upto months at times to get spare as part of replacement under warranty. The same spares sem to be readily available when they are replacing for a cost. HP has the worst heat sink and heat management in general. Any model any year has had the same complaint.... One generally ends up spending an extra few thousands getting stands and other cooling equipments just to make sure your precious data doesnt get screwed due to some overheat related malfunction. HP gets its share in PC/Laptop segment mainly because of their rabid advertising. Their products and distribution/retail are pretty lowly. I guess the company should just stick to their desktop printers and perhaps ink refills (the 6-7 times more expensive than normal refills eh?)

I HAD DELL INSPIRON TOO... BUT IT WAS TOO SLOW... IT TOOK 10 MINS. TO LOAD VISTA OS... LOT OF BKGRND. PROCESSINGS IN DELL COMPS. MAKES IT TOO SLOW..(ALSO, IT HAS LIMITATION ON RAM OF 3GB MAX.) SO I JUST GAVE THAT TO MY BROTHER, & THEN BOUGHT HP TOUCH-SMART..!! ITS VERY QUICK TO LOAD VISTA... USUALLY TAKES 20-25 SEC. TO LOAD OS... I LOVE MY HP TOUCH-SMART...ITS THE BEST LAPTOP W/ TABLET PC FEATURES..
We dont need a piece of watch studded with diamonds by the name of pricely-fashion-statement when everyone else is wearing it. Any technology , if it is not affordable for the wider and majority , it is simply not worth of it.
