Did you get a govt accomodation with 3-4 servents already present to take your orders at the new house? Were you provided army vehicle to move your stuff, and got those big army trunks (as many as you want) to move your stuff? Did you pack the items yourself of there were 10 sipahis from your regiment to pack your items?

Army life and Civil life are different....!!

Moving away

Moving away from your home-town can be daunting for both men & women but its still lot more easier for women as they can self-manage all the house-hold chores.

I tend to agree with her as I had a siimilar experience. The article addresses to consider what all has to be looked at while relocting. no where it says that there is probelm with the city.

This article is a joke.....

20 somethings in IT companies go to the US at the drop of a hat, with a notice period of less than a month, complete visa formalities and adapt to new countries with disdain and contempt.......eat at cheap joints and stay more than 8 in one apartment flat....

And here much ado is being made about a shift from Delhi to Mumbai, LOL......seriously, the author is a joke!!

You must be an @ss-scratching "sarkari babu" who has pasted himself to a chair for a few decades. Anyone who has moved cities within India can tell that moving abroad (where u get support from colleagues as well as the company) is far easier than moving cities within India. You dont have to deal with maids, cooks, autowallahs, landlords, brokers, cable-wallahs, vegetable-sellers and so on when you relocate abroad.

Fine, but where do you account for cheating service providers ready to fleece you at every chance they get, lousy set people who never ever keep their promise (including your kaamwali bai to house broker to mover-packer to stupid unhelpful neighbours) and the unorganised nature of all service providers? Just put all this together along with a 27 year-old who has just left the comforts of a set life and the pressure to manage things in a shoe string budget. You get to know what it is actually like.

We all have to manage packers and movers dude.....when i finished my B schooling in Calcutta and had to come back to Mumbai, we had negotiated with Gati couriers......every person who is a working professional goes thru these things....do you think my neighbours help me?? I manage everything on my own including milk, groceries, paying bills, paying insurance premiums etc etc etc etc......we all have to go thru these things, the author is making much ado about nothing......
