CAT ONLINE:IIM HEADS GONE INSANE
by DHOLAKIA KASHYAP on Apr 30, 2009 01:01 PM

the reason for online testing has been given as too tough to handle 2 lac candidates pen paper module.this logic is ridiculous simply because state bank can take 24lacs written exam(6/7/2008 and 13/07/2008) for a clerical cadre without any fuss why cant IIM people can take this exam?every year SBI PO has almost same no of candidates (as cat takers) and they conduct very smoothly with no clamour and here there is always hue n cry about the handling of this exam? see if you cant MANAGE CAT PEN PAPER EXAM you have no right to deliver MANAGEMENT LESSONS TO IIM GRADS...cat online will create more probs and will certainly be a luck by chance scenario..watch out 2011 onwards iim grads and you will realise...all the best...the mumbai dubbawalas are waiting for an assignment...how to manage the hunger of lacs of mumbai tiffin lovers..frm dharavi to cuff parade

Multiple tests

The article says that there will be a 10 day period when students can take the test. Does that mean that the papers will differ from day to day? They might keep the level similar but questions might be different. Thats not necessarily a good thing.

I feel to start with they should have a large pool of data and questions would come on @ random to the user. They might not be able to maintain the same level of Qs for every user.

Fees of answering is 1500/students X 4.5 lac students = Rs67.5 crores ie Rs 9.64 cr/IIM ...looks like the salary of staff is collected from this fees only.

I dont agree with cobra... i guess incorporating RC or for that matter any other type of question on a online platform shouldnt be a problem. I mean if it was how would GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, etc work... My confidence isnt an overconfidence, I am working very closely with a firm developing online test series for these exams.

I am thankful to IIM C for what i am today. In its broadest sense, e-assessment is the use of information technology for any assessment-related activity and choosing this mode of selection will definitely help IIMs to screen good talent. I hope IIMs will continue play a big role in shaping futures of the brightest mind in the country. After all they attact 85% of India's best.

MBA SCAM !! In the name of Education
by Raj Travels on Apr 28, 2009 02:37 PM

Except a handfull institutions thousands of other institutions are just exploiting students in the name of MBA degree. Students have to take lakhs of rupees of loan at outrageous rate of interest to meet their tution fees. And most of them will not get a decent job to payback their loans. Just think about the misery of these people.
