Carrer versus family
by meenoo sharma on Apr 20, 2009 11:47 AM  | Hide replies

I strongly feel it depends entirely on an individual how she wants to maange both the fronts. For professionals, delaying their family planning is quiet common these days but that doesn't mean they can't start family at later stage.Problems can occur at any point of time. So, why blame professional females for that!!

M/s Meenu;problems can start any time. Yes ur correct. A person can die any time but why do u have to jump in to a well for that. The objective of my telling is that working women should understand that family life is top most priority. Enough of choice.

by Guruprasad Kulkarni on Apr 20, 2009 11:40 AM

Is it jsut the coincidence or rediff has habbit of picking up leftovers from Times of India? 2 days back, i read an article with this subject in Health and Science of TOI. This has been my observation lately that rediff picks up articles from TOI and runs 2-3 days later on its site..Not that it really harms in any way, but its just sad

This is an absurd question
by Krishna on Apr 20, 2009 11:40 AM

The moderator wants women to choose between office and housekeeping. This is such a shame. If someone is stressing in her job, there are millions of ways to reduce the stress level. Instead the moderator is asking an absurd and demeaning question to the womenfolks. Things like exercise, yoga, proper diet reading books, avoiding late night TV shows, good sleep at nights etc. are adviced. If this does not work councelling is the second option. And after all these things if a working woman fails to concieve, she can temporarily take leave for a month or tow, can go for a vacation. But it definitely does not mean that she should quit her job and stay home forever. This is a mindset of those who want to make India a Ramrajya......

Even Men have Stress and die faster than women, WHO IS RESPON ?
by vikram on Apr 20, 2009 11:31 AM

During these last 5 years it has happened or no ?

Has the stock market tumbled and made millions of small, middle class people loose their hard earned savings, every last rupee and made them commit suicide ?
Has price of PHARMACEUTICALS, PAINKILLERS GONE DOWN ?? Has cost of education gone down ?
Do 1% richest people in the country have more wealth and say/ power / influence than 90% of the poorest people
Has number, instances of suicides and rapes become common ??
Have Banks agreed to reduce rate of interest ?
Do you feel u r earning for the bank ? and ur pockets are always empty ?..... money ille , not there !
has government taken any action to significantly reduce ROI and check if bankers are passing on the reduction in rate of interests to thier OLD CLIENTS
Has porography, pervertness and kinkyism, frustration increased , become very common ?
Are more woman out on the streets to ESCORT/ compromise, to earn a living because of loosing jobs and proper means of livelihood ?
Has Government put deaf ear towards revival and unemployment ?
has money been splurged on a particular sport even when we are saying there is recession in the country ?
Whay again and again, there is VOLATILITY IN THE SHARE MARKET.
Why people are being made to deliberately loose their all money in stocks by repeated UPS and DOWNS ?
This way, rich will remain rich and Poor will become more Poor ?
Why is this happeneing, what manipulation is behind this ? Cast your vote for a better Govt.

some observations
by ashvini hosing on Apr 20, 2009 11:29 AM

Apart from the finding in this article, i have personally observed that long working hours, hectic schedule, odd timings, cause serious health problems not only in women but in men as well. i have seen girls working late nights obsessed with so called corporate culture, having migrane, other health problems including and most importantly missing their periods. The menses cycle is ideally of 28 days...... but these girls do not get thier menses for months together..if this is the case..then what are the chances of conceiving??
it is now proved after the research that sitting in front of pc for long hours reduces fertility in men, using laptop which eminates heat, if kept on laps for long time, seriously affects sperm count.
Its high time both males and females decide their priorities.

are rays from computers responsible for poor conceivabilty.?
by bhuvnesh jawa on Apr 20, 2009 11:12 AM

I think the It professionals who devote more time on the computers may be having some adverse affect on the chances of conceiving by the females. Also if the husband is also something to do with computers he also adds to the adversibilty of conception.A thorough sampling and study by experts in this field may be able to arrive at a logical conclusion .So the stress or the career alone may not be the sole reason for poor conception.

Conception
by arungopal agarwal on Apr 20, 2009 11:11 AM

Good way of family planning.otherwise to remain without job is more stressful. We do not require any increase in population. Listening since birth, our population is an asset, even after 60 years of independence, our more than 50 crores are either unemployed or under employed.

I wish and hope that the thinking of our men should change towards women. Its really very sad that people in India still think very low about women. This country had given so many women who made history and made a mark of their own. And for conceiving The couple is responsible as a whole not the female counterpart alone. So please stop posting such articles which degrade the value of women and make them a mere puppet in the hands of the this male dominated society of ours.

Hope we Indians start respecting the aspirations of Women. We are one of the most regressive of societies forgeting that almost all our scriptures are full of powerful women (Draupadi, Kunti, Kanaki). rather than striving for stress free work environments we want to take 100 steps back and push our women into Kitchens. Guess Taliban regime is better atleast they do not fake their dis-respect for womenhood.
