Whatever is the market conditions, the real estate prices have really not benefitted the middle class buyers as builders/ agents have already been quoting very huge prices when actually the real price should not be even half the cost atleast in far flung areas. So, even if there is a price correction and the builders are quoting a lesser price, it is still more and profitable for them and loss for the middle class buyer looking for a 2BHK or less. So, its really a hard decision whether to purchase a house right now or wait for some more months that too if one is looking to take a house on loan basis since the interest rates are hight and banks or RBI are not in a mood to reduce it atleast in coming many months. The only hope would if global markets keep crashing and if it is really affecting Indian market price of commodities then we can expect a major correction that too after 8 - 12 months.

housing prices which came up 400% due to deliberate policy of chidu favoring builders in last four years, are collapsing now.
even developers who had taken for redvelopment are backing out.
two mid size builders in mumbai will soon go bottoms up.others are now running here and there. they dont want to reduce prices but there is no choice cuz the present prices are not maintainable at all.
prices in mumbai already down 15% and will fall 40% by year end.
only a fool will buy now. if economy goes down further like USA and BPO employees lose jobs, all defaults will be in the laps of the banks.
