as we take it

The concept of credit card is good for those who use it with caution.Often since the touch of money is not there when we buy on credit card the feeling is not there. This results in spending unnecessarily and get trapped in debt.In a time of crisis we used to run to friends and relatives for shirt term loans and many a times it was humiliating and embarassing. Now that we have credit cards the affair is private and saves the self respect.Only solution is the proper utilisation for which we only are resposible; However if the rate of interest and other incidental charges are reduced, there sure will be more takers.

Unwanted credit card
by SANJEEV M on Mar 27, 2008 06:40 PM

I had already a credit card from one of the leading banks. Some day I got a call, and the executive told me that they are calling from the bank, and they want to convert my existing card to a cash-back card.So I agreed. The next day their executive came to office to get the signature on a new form. When I asked them, why should I sign at a place where it is written as a request for a new card, as I don't intend to get any new card, he told me that this is just for acceptance.I had doubt, and I told him to allow me to interact to his office members, and surprisingly, when I called the number and asked they told, they are from bank, and what the executive is telling correct. So I signed. After 1 week, I received a new card and was irritated, as I was not expecting it.So I called the bank number given in the papers that came along with the credit card and reported the abuse. What I finally discovered is that the call I got initially was from a Marketing agency and even though the bank people aplologised for the event, they did not give any details about the said agency to me.So we should never trust a telephone call, even though they say that they are calling from bank. We should also not a sign on any form, unless very specifically it is written for what the form is meant. And at last, we should go to the bank site and match the numbers to find out any discrepancy.

Credit card companies e.g. Citibank, SBI and also big mobile companies e.g. Reliance never sends their bills shouldering the blame on their curier company and expect customer to pay the bill much before the due date. Such companies should be penalised rather customer is harressed.

In spite of registering on National DNC registry, they telemarketeers still call, the phone company (Vodafone, Airtel, etc) should then and there offer Rs. 1000 per call and later collect it from the offenders. This will reduce the burden on the consumers and also teach the offenders a lesson.

The solution is very simple. What I do is I talk very sweetly to any unwanted telecaller & ask them to send their executive to my office. I give them a fake address that doesnt exist. Further the address should be far away from the place where the telecallers office is located. Then when they send theyr executive & he doesnt find the address I further confuse them by giving misleading diretions. they get fed up & frustrated. Then I tell them that I have fooled them just the way they had fooled me. this is the best way of taking revenge on these companies. Till now I have misled about 50 or so callers. You at least get the satisfaction of having gotten back on someone who is troubling you.

these guys are working for these companies to earn there bread and butter, they have nothing to do with harassment, they are doing there duties. Whenever u get a call straight away say NO. they are not prepared so hear such straight forward NO, and go speechless, this works we me every time when i get such unwanted call
