After my increment for the year, my basic salary has not been changes.All increment has been divided amongst the other components. Please let me know if this is a good break up or should the basic also have been increased? will a stagnant basic affect me?
I am government employee and claiming children education allowance paid (upto Rs. 15000 per child a year) for my children, from my office. Is the tution fee component contained in CEA can also be claimed for tax deduction under Section 80C.

Ex: As my basic is 50000 HRA:20000 CVA:800
SO do we need to pay for 50000*12 or (50000 20000 800)*12 ?
I am a female with Rs25000/Month as salary and 2000 variable component above it as incentive. I am working from September 20th 2011 till present. I have started an ELSS (HDFC tax saver-SIP) investment in December and have invested 20,000 till now in the same. Am contributing towards charity exempt under 80G since December monthly, amounting to Rs.2600 till march 2012. Need to know what my tax amount would stand at. The company official CA is giving my investment the same tax treatment as to general investments in mutual funds.Help me cross check.
