Conclusion
by Vilas on Feb 25, 2008 05:38 PM

Dear Friends, I am just wondering what would be the conclusion of this discussion...after few days people will stop posting their comments..I personally feel that since rediff has started this thread, after certain time they should analyze reader%u2019s thoughts/comments and a proper report should be prepared and sent it to the Human Rights Commision/CC 2--Central Govt/All State Govt/All Major news paper/News Channels..
OTHERWISE all will go in vain%u2026 waste of time!!

Sexual Harassment in Public
by Namrata Anand on Feb 25, 2008 09:53 AM

I would appreciate your efforts towards this type of topic. Now a days, this ia a very common problem in India, hopefully everywhere in India. I have heard many times from my friends about these type of teasing in public or in alone. It is really a shame on us. But, on the other hand, strictly I dont agree with you that women enjoy these things. Nobody will enjoy teasing or sexual harassment. To find a solution to stop it, we should try to make our women more confident, frank & smart so that most of the times she could herself able to resolve these problems or she complains in a legal department. Also, there should be fast reaction if any woman complaints in a legal department for such incidents.

Inappropriate heading %u2013 Sends a wrong message to the public
by RAM CHANDRAN on Feb 25, 2008 09:32 AM

I totally disagree with the rediff%u2019s view that most women like to get harassed. It is true that some women would like to get public attention by any means, but not all. But how come rediff came to a conclusion like this?

This will sent a wrong message to the public. Also it is against the basic ethics of journalism. Some women, who indulge in western type of lifestyle and live without valuing morality, should not be matched with the ordinary Indian women; this is totally unacceptable.

Sexual harassment most of the times give mental trauma. It is actully a perverted act.Now a days habit like taking gutka makes a man somewhat sexually compramised and just to get himself sexually boosted, he commits the act so that he can gain confidence.

Sexual Harrasment?
by vikram aggarwal on Feb 25, 2008 08:29 AM

OK heading is inappropriate, i agree. How about you write your comments on the topic raised rather than whining about the heading? Lets hear from the indian women what she feels about it?

I think it happens everyday but as the article mentioned, someone has to take it to heart to make a big fuss about it. Having said that, I know there are a lot of rapes these days. One of the major reason is that man is too deprived of sex due to our culture and too much temptation out there for him both on TV and real life. Most men are normal and able to control their desires. But some idiots cant control. The best way for India to move ahead would be to have a bit more open outlook towards sex.
