by vijay sharma on Dec 17, 2008 08:27 PM  | Hide replies

While in GOA every body with intrest in drinks want to taste Feni a local breu. I puchaged a bottle of feni costing Rs 180/-.Belive it is even milder than a beer costing Rs 40 in Delhi.Either they sell a different stuff to Tourists or Feni is just a flaw.

Why not go to a good restaurant and order feni there. A peg might cost you around 40 bucks, but its defenitely worth it. Thats what happens when you try to save money

Taxis at airport
by swami pudipeddi on Dec 11, 2008 12:59 PM  | Hide replies

In the Shamshabad Airport, while you come out from the arrivals ladies in suit approach you asking whether you require a cab. Once you say yes, you will be taken to one fellow in suit who quotes that the taxi is available for Rs.1,050/- from Airport to Khairatabad. That means he charges more than Rs.30 per kilo meter. There is no one to check this type of robbery. Who can contral at other places.
In Tirupati, there is no Govt. control. whatever the taxi or Auto quotes should be paid with out demur. Our politicians talk of clean transactions, when they cnnot even control a small bred like Taxis/Autos.

You know something, the cost of operating an commerical aircraft like Boeing 737 or Airbus A320 from place A to place B is much less than 30 rs to a kilometer!!This is a professional robbery, that is going unchecked.

so if you become a taxi driver, you will charge only for the fuel and not for recovering your investment ??
(only for you ... investment is cost of the car)

country club
by akasai on Dec 10, 2008 08:29 PM  | Hide replies

Treat this as a warning when you deal with country club. They cheated me of Rs.54,000. I too k lot of patience, follow, threatening etc. to get back the money. Actually, the credit card company made a mistake and hence I was able to catch them by the collar to return the money.
1) Country club will quote x amount and simply withdraw money atleast 30K more than that
2) Credit card companies are involved with them . Atleast some workers of the CC companies
3) Despite giving orders to CC company to block the transaction, they allowed it to go through
4) Country club guy came to my house to get my signature saying that if I sign, the money will be returned. I read through, the paper was for accepting the deal. If I had signed, then no one could have stopped CC club from taking the money. They can even drag me to court for stopping payment.

Unfortunately, I read bad things about C Club only after my money was withdrawn and I started suspecting them.

Dalal Street magazine also is fraud
by Raghavendra Acharya on Dec 10, 2008 07:49 PM  | Hide replies

Ramdeo Media Pvt. Ltd, publishers of Dalal Street Magazines are also cheating investors by sending through VPP, a sub standard book on stock market, even though they have not ordered the book. I accidentally paid for it and took delivery of the same. Now I have lodged a complaint against them in consumer court. Beware of such companies...

You rnt the first one. There area many such incidents with ITBC. One recent scam which a friend of mine went thru: they promise DVDs of PG wodehouse plays, take money and then say they have run out of stock..!! Then its a hell of time for you to get back the money. He is actually yet to get back his money! They treat you as if its all your fault!
