May I request that someone from the Senior Management would consider the request on medical grounds, get in touch with the insurance agency and would reply to the letter within a week from today i.e. 10th Mar 08. Be it negligence from your side or your insurance partner, failing to reply, I would be left with no option but to go to the leading and local news paper with our experience with M/s Kesari on the mental harassment due to procedural hiccups at M/s Kesari, post the mishap.

We are aware that you have informed the fellow team members of the complete help provided by M/s Kesari to us, which I feel is not true with respect to the procedures at M/s Kesari post a mishap and pending the above claims.

As insurance was purchased at your office, I feel it appropriate to be in contact with you for immediate progress of the case.

If need be, as a Senior Citizen, I would approach for help through the RTI as well as the District Consumer Re-dressal Forum for re-dressal.

I have still not recovered completely and I am extremely un-happy the way M/s Kesari has handled the case post the mishap. Constructively, I would also like to know the corrective action taken by M/s Kesari with reference to my comments in my letter dated December 24, 2007.

With regards,

(Dr. S M Naik)

Ref: F2071207 – Mrs. and Dr. S. M. Naik, letter dated December 24, 2007, January 18, 2008
Sub: Insurance claim and refunds

Dear Sir / Madam

At the outset, I am very much at pain that even after follow up with your office I have not been provided a valid reason for not reimbursing my insurance claim and refund of the break of journey on Medical grounds. I feel that we have been taken for granted.

Your office had claimed that the Insurance agency (The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd) would be in touch with us over the insurance claims but regret that there has been no progress even after we had contacted them a couple of weeks back. We are being assured but there is no progress and we are not being informed of the status.

The insurance policy numbers are 121800/6231/KP2000495 and 121800/6231/KP2000496. We are still not clear as what the insurance agency is covering under the insurance cover? We were assured clearance of our claim before the end of January 2008, but till date, there has been no progress.

As a reminder, following is required to be settled either by M/s Kesari or by The Oriental Insurance Company Ltd.

1. Refund or against insurance, amount against cancellation of our tour further from Bangkok.
2. On 11th and 12th Dec07, expenses of USD 444/- were done for medicine and initial hospitalization admission charges. A hand written note from Mr. Sudarshan expl

plenty of travel scams in India too
by raj on Aug 19, 2008 10:54 AM  | Hide replies

whats surprising is that people take it as thier bad karma and bad luck, and stars, instead of nailing the culprits.

country club, club mahindra, royal goan resort (famous hathi mahal, yeah the big fat elephantine problem). plenty of such clubs and resorts quietly ripping people off, while the government neither has legislation in place nor has the public asked for such a thing. the royal ripoff continues!

timeshare and hotel 'investments' scams are innumerable! read mouthshut, tripadvisor, lonely planet. and remember average traveller like me .... "caveat emptor" / "buyer beware" and... most importantly - if its too good to be true - it probably is that way! untrue!!!

Royal goan beach club (haathi mahal, arpora, etc) is the most disgusting resort chain i have ever seen. Worst part is that these sorry a$$ resorts are affiliated to international chains like RCI. You can not trust anyone as a traveller.
