this is nonsense...
by krishna tripathi on Aug 15, 2008 02:56 PM  | Hide replies

it is more problem when ppl start praising these articles. Some advise us to quit if we dont like it. No..!! we have to express our opinion. we have to say a thing dirty if it is dirty. if i am reading it, it does not mean i m enjoying it (same way as the title says "having sex does not mean u r connected). there is nothing new in the article except the names of ladies undergarments to excite some ppl here who feel "liberated" when they are allowed to speak of sex openly. why do u need to discuss it openly? why not with ur wife/ gf only? what u gain by discussing openly?? why u feel liberated whn ur dad says "hello son hw was the inter**se yesterday? was ur wife happy?"... is this liberation?? women (and guys too) showing their bare bodies is called liberation?? u think gandhiji was a saint by removing clothes and u will be by doing so??

Why are we so Prudish about Sex?
by Soniya Kulkarni on Aug 14, 2008 04:42 PM  | Hide replies

As a nation with nearly the largest population in the world I am shocked to see that people are go goddamn prudish about sex!
I mean wake up people, all these little spawns that you trot around proudly with are a direct result of the act of procreation!!!
When are we just going to wake up, stop acting so incredibly self righteous and accept the plain fact that we as a specie are inclined to act upon the desire to have sex with those we are attracted to, whether we like to admit it or not.
For all these lovely people that talk about great literature remaining unadulterated by sex, hello?! What the hell have you guys been reading?
Ignorance is not bliss, that fact that we are so incredibly ashamed to admit that yes we do like sex and participate in it willingly and joyfully without the constraints of marriage is truly sad.
Leave it to some dimwits to make something as natural and beautiful as the act of lovemaking so incredibly ugly and disdainful.
Seriously if the content bothers you all that much, which it shouldn't, don't read it, nobody is putting a gun to your head!

You are right absolutely. The most natural thing in this world is sex and the most unnatural thing in this world is the denial of its urge in the name of self imposed puritanism and its vulgar side as hypocrisi

It is ridiculous to read that the character sleeps with her guy (only a few times you know) before they become offically boyfriend n girlfriend!!!!! This, to me in one level in advance...in other words, these days everyone in India is becoming increasingly aware that those in relationships are very likely to make it sexual before marriage...but this one is advanced in the sense they make it physical even before there can be any defined relationship!!!!!!

This is more in tune with the west where one night stands, pick up sex etc are all so prevalent. Now, don't argue by asking whether that "this kind of romp never happens in India?"

What does this so called author wanna convey? She knows "what sells"...if she can come up with diverse topics other than sexcapades, bra straps, late night parties, then she might end up having a wider audience.

The fact is even now she does have a wide audience, but the audience from all age groups r likely to be men and I guess, men in age group 50 n above r more likely to enjoy this stuff then someone like me who is 24!

Let the arguments continue as well as expression of desires and fantasies openly.

phew! it is so refreshing to see the Indian Woman accept her desires, hers sexuality and her independent perception of life, and feelings.
Wake up Indian men and respect the sexual independence of women. And wake up prudish Indian women, accept your sexuality and your UNIQUE RIGHT TO SEXUAL EXPRESSION out of choice and not out of obligation!

grounded forever in bed is the culture in which we live.Accepting and taking responsibility for ones' sexuality is being free from sex slavery of traditional society.

hello if a man talks about sex it is not abuse if the women is consenting to it.Abuse is prominent because men force themselves on women.

why is sexual desire sick?sex education is BADLY needed.Being sexual and out of control are two VERY different things. If a man does it is natural if a woman does it is sick?

where r we headed...
by none on Aug 13, 2008 06:14 PM  | Hide replies

what r we ready to read in the name of literature? the great indian upper-middle-middle class girls n boys, in the name of freedom and professionalism living a blatantly open sexual existence...and their escapades, their daily banal living revolving around parties, bra details and sex..There is so little substance to these new genre baba-log, so little matter in them....no knowledge , no character, only concerned with the difference between 'making love' and 'having a fuck'....is this all there is to life? sad! and all in the name of literature....could publishing houses and literary critics rise above these supremely banal writings and give the reading public something of more value, something that would build society, character ? (and i dont mean to relate sex to character....), values, something that would help in knowing the good from the bad, the beautiful from the ugly....
